What is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and is a model of communication focusing on identifying and using patterns of thought that influence individuals’ behaviour and unique experiental lives.
NLP is a method of programming the mind, emphasizing the mind-body-spirit connection. “Neuro” refers to the workings of the brain and to detectable patterns of thinking. “Linguistic” refers to verbal and non-verbal expressions of the brains thinking patterns. “Programming” implies that the patterns can be are recognized and understood by the mind and that they can be altered.
Using NLP, therapists can help you step into view of the world to discover thoughts, beliefs, values and help you set compelling goals, build and change your life for the better.
NLP is an effective proven vehicle for accelerated human change, radically altering the more lengthy types of psychotherapy.
A definition of NLP is ‘the modeling of excellence, and the application of the models to make a difference for people’.
It has also been defined as ‘an attitude and methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques’.
NLP involves a lot of programming and reprogramming by reframing and making belief changes.
Unlike hypnotherapy, NLP is carried out in a conscious state.
It is also both quick and effective.
